From ambition to reality, the story of The Fans Agency is the first chapter in a re-defining of sports and talent management. But first – let’s kick off with football… The idea of the agency was a long-held dream by one of the UK’s most successful and well-known sport influencers (as well as once being agent to football legend, Maradona and the English football team): Jon Smith. We were brought on board right at the start and managed a very successful crowdfunding campaign designed to fund the set-up, launch and running of the agency.
We designed the brand, created video and written content to explain and launch the concept and developed the website. To promote the initiative, we contacted all the major media outlets and Jon Smith was interviewed by the likes of ITV, Sky News and CNN as well as getting coverage in all the major newspapers.
We rolled out a fan engagement editorial strategy which featured both a high profile social media presence as well as on-site articles and commentary - the hero content being a regular podcast that featured luminaries from the world of football.
The concept of The Fans Agency is expanding beyond football into other sports: namely, boxing and we are currently developing the idea into new areas.
